Making an Impact: New AAIA Award Recognizes
Outstanding Young Aftermarket Professionals
Impact Award Will Honor Four Under 45
BETHESDA, MD – August 10, 2010 – The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has announced its new “AAIA Impact Awards,” to annually honor four aftermarket professionals, age 45 or younger, who have made remarkable contributions within the aftermarket industry. The award was created and will be administered by the AAIA Marketing and Member Relations Committee on behalf of the association.
“We are very excited to introduce a long overdue award that recognizes the next generation of aftermarket leaders, the young professionals who are already making significant contributions to our industry early in their careers,” said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO. “Each year four shining stars will be selected among the many young aftermarket professionals who are truly making a difference in the aftermarket.”
The award is open to anyone aged 45 or younger, with relevant professional work experience, of which a minimum of two years must be in the automotive aftermarket. Nominations are due by Wednesday, Sept. 1, and honorees will be notified in October. Winners will be selected by the AAIA Marketing and Member Relations Committee, and recommended to the AAIA Executive Committee for final approval. The four Impact Award winners will be recognized during the AAIA Town Hall Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at AAPEX, in Las Vegas, Nev.
